Rickie Lambert is confident that Saints can end Stoke’s remarkable unbeaten home run when they visit the Britannia Stadium tomorrow.

Tony Pulis’ side have not lost a Premier League match on their own turf since February, and have conceded just four goals in their nine games there this season.

That defensive record is the best in English professional football, and one of the most impressive in Europe.

No side across the top divisions in countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Holland can even match it.

In Britain, Scottish duo Rangers and Queen of the South are the only teams who boast a better record.

With that in mind, Lambert insists Saints are under no illusions about how difficult it will be to win at Stoke, but he believes the confidence gained from the 1-1 Boxing Day draw at Fulham can spur them on to a result.
