CAPITAL One Cup heroes Bradford City have bolstered their ranks by completing the loan signing of Saints full-back Ryan Dickson – a move City’s management have called a “big move” for both player and club.

Left-back Dickson will make his debut against Oxford this afternoon at the start of a loan spell that will run until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has not featured for Saints in the Premier League this season but he has previously played for Brentford and had loan spells with Yeovil and Leyton Orient.

But Bradford’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg means he has now joined a side on the up.

City number two Steve Parkin said: “Ryan’s a player we’ve always been aware of but, without being disrespectful, we never thought he would want to drop to our level coming from a Premier League club.

“It’s a big move but the lad absolutely jumped at the opportunity, which is the reaction you want to see.

“He’s obviously seen the Villa game on the TV and there were no qualms about coming up here and joining us.

“Ryan’s a forward-thinking full back and we’re sure he’ll fit in nicely.”
