Looks like Shaw is getting an U21 call up. The u21 coach Pearce was asked when Shaw would be in the u21s, he replied, 'About 2 wks.' That is when we have a friendly on. Pearce also added that he'd seen Shaw a lot and had never seen him play badly, which is aazing for one so young.

In the cup match against Chelsea, the only player I thought we had better than their equivalent position was Shaw vs. Cole. Didn't see the league match vs Chelskey the other night, was anyone there to make the same comparison? If Shaw can consistently out-perform the first choice England left back, then a full England call-up is surely just a matter of time.

Southampton have sacked manager Nigel Adkins.

Speculation had been rife this morning over the future of the Saints boss, who has led a resurgence in his side in recent weeks.

Adkins has been replaced by former Espanyol boss Mauricio Pochettino.

A statement from the club read: "The club would like to thank Nigel Adkins for his service over the past three seasons and wish him well for the future."
