Coutinho deal sealed
4:55pm Saturday 26th January 2013 in Saints News
Philippe Coutinho
LIVERPOOL have had an £8.5m bid accepted for Saints target Philippe Coutinho.
Saints were reportedly prepared to pay £10.2m for the Inter Milan midfielder but their interest cooled when it became clear the player was holding out for a move to Merseyside.
Cash-strapped Inter need to sell the 20-year-old Brazil international in order to sign 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder Paulinho from Corinthians before the transfer window shuts.
The sales of Wesley Sneijder, who has sealed an £8.4m move to Galatasary, and Coutinho would easily fund the €15m move for Paulinho

"Coutinho Deal Sealed" got me excited. Then I read that they've just accepted Liverpool's bid....and nothing to do with Saints signing a player as I had hoped

There were a zillion threads touting different numbers and theories from Italy and England but BBC are saying the lad wanted to go to Liverpool (case of bigclubitysis).
Makes you wonder though:
1. So much for Mopo attracting fancy players when he couldn't get a former loanie.
2. Inter had no faith in the youngster so why should we.
oh well serves us right for getting feisty about a window!!
As ever believe it when it's on the OS.. or BBC etc :(

I think we'll know for sure if this guys comming to saints tomorrow, Jordan sibly on the saints official twitter said to keep an eye out for 2 big interviews tomorrow, now I guess it could be a rare interview from NC and maybe a parting interview from NA both I would consider as big interviews, however I get the feeling atleast 1 of the interviews is a new signing, oh and just to add when he wrote big interviews he used Capitols ala BIG to emphasis there magnitude
Seems the cameras and equipment are still in Barca it's unlikely to be NA.. so perhaps a second signing.. we are linked with quite a few though the silent ones are best... there is also a buzz about Kelvin Davis possibly heading to Ipswich.

Although the failure to attract him here will be a bit of a confidence killer for our management team, it's not the end of the world. There will be other worthy targets to go for who truly want to be Saints - much better value than a half hearted player. I'm sure NC and MP have there eyes on suitable targets!
My only concern is that NC and MP can get fresh players to sign up before Thursday's deadline. We shall have to keep our fingers crossed.

Echo, why do you do this? Why have a headline "deal sealed", when the story clearly says that the deal hasn't been sealed at all, but that a bid has been accepted. Why invite the obvious criticisms of lazy journalism? Why have such sensationalist headlines, when anyone reading only a couple of sentences further can see that the headline is innacurate? It's not like this is a rare occurance; you are ALWAYS doing it, and it (a) annoys the hell out of your readers, (b) makes you look stupid, (c) makes people doubt your truthfulness, which surely is the kiss of death for any newspaper, and (d) makes no sense when you don't have to capture an audience; the very fact that we are here, on your website, almost ensures we are gong to read the story, whatever he headline.

What a choice of words to dismiss a valued, loyal and talented employee rated by over 90% of Saints supporters, in favour of a man who finished rock bottom with Espanyol and has never won anything!

Try getting some factual information before posting!
Firstly, Pochettino did not FINISH bottom of the league, they were bottom when he left after some reasonably good seasons.
Secondly, he was not sacked! He Left, by mutual consent! ( http://www1.skysport
s.com/news/11095/828
6792/ )
Thirdly, everything he did at Espanyol was done on a budget smaller than that of Portsmouth's and each year the best performers had to be sold in order to finance the next season.
I don't see your manager getting you to finish 11th, or 8th or 14th this season, do you? (That was Pochettino's record with Espanyol!)
No, I didn't think you would!
I also don't see a wealth of talent being produced by your academy, either! He achieved that with Espanyol, also.
The likes of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinio rate him highly for what he achieved. I have a feeling their opinions are more highly regarded than yours!
As for Nigel Adkins, he is still rated by most saints fans and even by Mr Cortese, but the decision was made for the on-going future of the club. The fans must live with it and move on.
