MANCHESTER City striker Sergio Aguero insisted his side had “no excuse” for losing at St Mary’s last night.
"Some days, nothing works the way it should," the Argentina international said on Twitter.
"This was one of those days. There's no excuse - we need to work hard to forge ahead.
"It all looks a bit grim right now, but I won't believe giving up is an option."
City captain Vincent Kompany was not in the squad yesterday due to injury, although felt the need to speak out in the wake of the loss.
"Our fans sang and stood behind us all game yesterday, despite losing," he tweeted today.
"Just reminds me that there will always be a lot to play for. #MCFC !!"
