A TEESSIDE software development company has teamed up with a university to offer a graduate his first foot on the career ladder.
AES Digital Solutions, in Billingham, near Stockton, has taken on 21-year-old marketing intern Dan Atkinson, who studied at Teesside University.
The business specialises in software development for local government and food ingredient companies and offered undergraduates three-month paid internships at the start of the year.
Mr Atkinson, a sport studies graduate, said: “I have been given responsibility from the start, which has helped me to settle in and given me confidence to put my ideas across.
“I hope I can develop and help the company to grow.”
Joe Telford, managing director of AES, said: “We are always looking for flexible and motivated staff.
“Teesside University has a reputation for nurturing employability among its students so this was the ideal win-win situation.”
