Battle of the birthday boys at St Mary's
6:10am Thursday 28th February 2013 in Saints News
Mauricio Pochettino
It looks like many happy returns for one manager at St Mary’s on Saturday ... while the other could have the birthday blues.
Harry Redknapp’s first return to Saints since he left the club in the Championship, and a seemingly inevitable hot reception, doesn’t seem the happiest of ways for the former Pompey manager to celebrate his 66th birthday.
But, in an amazing twist, the man in the opposite technical area, current Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino, will also be blowing out the candles as he hits 41 on Saturday.
It’s a huge game for both sides as QPR drink in last chance saloon in terms of their chances of Premier League survival. Anything other than a win at St Mary’s will surely extinguish whatever hopes they have of avoiding relegation this season.
Saints sit in a far healthier position in the table but know they need to make the most of some good form by putting more wins on the board, and they barely get more winnable than a home game against a team win just two league victories all season.
There would be nerves still jangling around St Mary’s if Saints failed to collect the three points. If they do then they will be within touching distance of the superb achievement of securing a Premier League berth for next season, however.
Success for Pochettino and woe for Redknapp – it’s the birthday most Saints fans will be wishing on the managers.

What a fantastic player, we all should be happy that he has signed for another four years, it's about time that we had a chant/song for him also.

I fail to see how if we win we will be within touching distance! We are going to need 5 wins minimum before we can feel safe because after the game there will still be 30 points available

At birth 'arry was so ugly that the nurse slapped his mother. He had been expected to appear at least two months before, but the unusually early contractions turned out to be little 'arry twitching in the womb. After the birth, his very excited dad ran off to tell his friends and didn't come back until 'arry left home 20 years later.
It's a good read and in fact sold even more copies than "Confucious", written by Confucious and published by Cunfucious Publishing £650.25.

Sound a bit too long to be true that, but he is getting a bit scatty. He called 999 in a panic this morning and asked for the fire brigade because he'd put his pants on the wrong way round and couldn't get his willy out.

Alongside you, how many others 'own' the club? It's just that, if there are others, and I guess there are one or two other mugs, then you HAVE to share it and, therefore, you don't 'own' it but 'own' only a part of it, don't you?
That may come as a bit of a disappointment to you but there is good news, it means you 'own' only a part of the debt, which should therefore save you a bob or two.
It's good to share :)
