Saints accept FA charge Saints accept FA charge

Saints have been fined £20,000 by the Football Association after accepting the charge of failing to control their players during last weekend's 0-0 draw at Norwich.

The club were charged earlier this week in light of the reaction to referee Mark Clattenburg's decision to award the Canaries a penalty in added time at Carrow Road.

The official was surrounded by a number of angry Saints players, while manager Mauricio Pochettino confronted him on the pitch after the final whistle, despite Artur Boruc having kept the spot kick out.

A statement from the FA said: "The FA has today fined Southampton £20,000 after they admitted a charge of failing to control their players."

I plan to be back home in time to turn on the TV and hear the words "Soothampton wuh egs-sellant ter-deh" coming out of Alan Hansen's face, while Lawro sits beside him with his b1tch-tits oozing out of some god-awful stripey shirt looking embarrassed.

That'd be good.

He's been miserable ever since coming of the course at that Unicef Celebrity Golf event at Wentworth. He grumbled "Terrible. Four bogies, today - and one of my balls is missing."

Going to be a tough game to win, Liverpool are on the up at the moment.

Only time will tell if what is going on at st Mary's is going to work out or not, say what you like about cortèse he likes a challenge... Even throws in his own obstacles! They say there's a very thin line between genius and insanity, sacking Adkins when it appeared the corner was turned was a big decision that cortèse will have to stand by. The off shot of that is dividing the fans, rumour of not treating people correctly and risking our premier league status, was it necessary? Will all the flack be worth it? One thing for sure cortèse doesn't like an easy life!

I think he bought a load of old shirts that Englebert Humperdink was taking to the dump.

But to be fair, if Lawrenson was Egyptian and wasn't so short and fat with blotchy fair skin, a bulbous nose and ratty eyes, I think he would look exactly like Omar Sharif.

Correct decision from the club, but only because the FA are hypocritical bullies and you cant risk standing up for yourself and telling the truth and upsetting them. Nothing about Clattenburg getting both penalty decisions wrong, nothing giving Saints a second chance because of our excellent disiplinary record, and no action against Liverpool and Spurs even though their players were intimidating and surrounding the ref for the whole 90 minutes last weekend. Don't you just love the Premier League?

The £20,000 will help pay for the FA stuffed shirts' champers and prawn sandwiches. Meanwhile, Clattenberg will carry on making poor decisions.

And MU's Ferdinand claps in the referee's face after the Real Madrid defeat and gets rewarded with a recall to the England squad.

That's football!

does anyone really think that our players went over the top in their protests to clutterburke? last min of a tough away game in which he has made several big mistakes, and then he awards that pen. I don't blame the players for having a moan, what has the game come to if players cant have a moan at the ref? I know that the FA want to protect refs but they should start by getting refs who can do a good job! clutterburke has become a joke with the fans, players and managers and has lost respect from all. I thought the players and MP showed great restraint in their protests!

After watching a greyhound race, I have written to Nicola suggesting that at the end of matches stewards should run on and put collars and leads on all the players and lead them off.

If Punch is playing, all the stewards and ball boys should also carry poo bags.

As soon as control is lost you've lost. We were lucky the incident happened at the end of the game.
Passion, aggression, power, speed etc all good if they're controlled, this is where discipline plays its part. Mp IMO should have approached the ref one to one away from the camera's, media and more importantly his players and expressed his opinion. He is the leader/manager and has opened the door hopefully not flood gate and said by example, that its ok to behave like that. Players will take any excuse, decisions will go against us but also for us, play to the whistle not cry and give up. That is not the type of football southampton played in the past and I wouldn't want to see it in the future, get a grip lads.
