Professional models strutted down the catwalk wearing the work of the next generation of fashion designers from Middlesex University.
Around 100 final year fashion and fashion textile students watched their designs on the catwalk in front of an industry judging panel made up of designers Louise Gray, James Long and columnist JJ Lee.
The students have spent around four months making clothes, which included childrenswear as well as women’s fashion and menswear.
Inspirations for each collection were wide ranging, including travellers and bare knuckle fighting, Afghan female freedom fighters and childhood memories.
The panel of judges selected 25 student designers to go through to a final fashion show at the Middlesex University final year degree show at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane in June.
One of the lucky winners was student Stevie Hockaday, whose theme was working class northerners.
He said: “It’s amazing to see it all come together as everyone’s worked so hard. I’ve been doing 17-hour days recently, so I’m exhausted, but it’s all worth it.”
