Rebecca Beal, 17, dominated the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events with three gold medals. Beal also went on to gain silver in the 200m freestyle event.

In the boys, 10-year-old Scott Greaney raced his way to an excellent personal best time in the 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley and gaining valuable experience at open meets.

Josh Rowe, 11, had a busy programme of events as he continued his return to form with very strong swims in the 400m freestyle and 200m freestyle.

Tornadoes’ head coach Phil Daniels, said: “Josh primarily swims backstroke, the 200m backstroke being his main event, so it is very pleasing to see him do very well in the 400m and 200m freestyle and also gain a bronze medal in the 200m backstroke.”

Assistant head coach Chris Beal praised all the swimmers for their effort and application, which resulted in four gold, three silver and five bronze medals, with accompanying improved and regional times.
