A MAN was left in a critical but stable condition after his car collided with a tree in Bromsgrove on Friday.

The 46-year-old man, from Bromsgrove, was travelling along Meadow Road at just before 12pm when the green Honda CRV he was driving crossed the junction of Stourbridge Road and collided with a tree in a garden.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he remains critical but stable in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police are investigating whether he may have been taken ill prior to the collision.
