Two weekends' worth of activities exploring the history and wildlife of the River Wandle will take place in Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton and Croydon.
The Wandle Weekends will include talks, exhibitions, cycle rides and tours for all ages along the the nine-mile river, which runs from Wandle Park in Croydon to the Tideway in Wandsworth.
Activities in Croydon include a tour of Wandle Park as it undergoes regeneration, and a ramble along the length of the river.
In Merton, there will be archeological digs for children, and a tour around Morden Hall Park.
Events taking place in Sutton include a bat walk and a clean up of the River Wandle, while Wandsworth residents can enjoy a cycle ride from Wandsworth Common to Morden Hall Park and an exhibition on eccentric Wandsworth resident Mrs Stirling.
The Wandle Weekends will be held on June 1 and 2, and June 8 and 9.
