A one-day conference to help prevent human trafficking in Croydon is to be held next week.

The free event will take place in the Arnhem Gallery, in Fairfield Halls, on Thursday, June 6 between 10am and 3pm.

Faith and community groups, third sector and voluntary organisations, local authority practioners, police, NHS and immigration workers will all be in attendance at the conference, which looks at the scale of the problem and how to recognise the signs locally.

Croydon Council's cabinet member for community safety, Councillor Simon Hoar said: "The conference will hear about recent developments in the fight against human trafficking, and provide an opportunity to share experiences.

"We are pleased that Croydon’s diverse communities will come together to help combat human trafficking."
