ALCESTER found South Warwickshire Summer Tennis League Premier Division pacesetters Stratford too hot to handle as they lost 4-0.

Richard Monk and Callum Bailey set defending champions Stratford on the road to victory with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alcester's Tim Kenneally and Pete Watson. They then beat Gareth Price and Tim Price 6-1, 6-2.

Stratford captain Tim Page together with Simon West also saw off the Price pair 6-4, 6-2, before winning a close rubber 7-6, 6-4 over Kenneally and Watson.

In Division One, Inkberrow claimed a 4-0 victory against Aston Cantlow.

In Division Two, leaders Studley B were joined at the top on 12 points by Stratford B after their 3-1 victory over Whitnash.

Inkberrow B drew 2-2 with HDA Redditch in Division Three, while in Division Four HDA Redditch B lost 4-0 to Ardencote Manor and Alcester C went down 3-1 to Wildmoor Spa.

Studley stayed second after their 3-1 win away win at Inkberrow C in Division Five.
