SAINTS star Rickie Lambert is set to continue his fledgling international career after being called into the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Lambert, 31, has been named in the squad that will face Moldova and Ukraine early next month.

It comes after his scoring debut earlier this month, when he came off the bench to score the winner against Scotland in a friendly at Wembley.

The Moldovans visit Wembley on September 6, while England travel to Kiev on September 10.

There are also been call-ups for Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse who have both been named in the England under-21 squad for games against Moldova and Finland.

Shaw is hoping for a first cap at that level after four successive injury related pull-outs while it is the first time Ward-Prowse has been called up for the squad.

Calum Chambers has been included in the England under-19s squad for their friendly in Estonia next Thursday.
