Saints legend Matthew Le Tissier has asked fans to unite behind the club following the departure of Nicola Cortese.
He took to Twitter this morning to say: “Saints fans - after Pochettino threatened to quit if Nicola Cortese went, will you think any less of him if he stays? I feel it’s time to unite behind the club.”
That was in response to widespread concern that manager Mauricio Pochettino will leave because of Cortese’s exit.
In the past the Argentine has spoken about his commitment to the club because of the former executive chairman’s presence at St Mary’s.
Le Tiss also asked fans to consider the Liebherr family’s place at the club.
“Before people start criticising the Liebherr family just remember whose money allowed us to get where we are today,” he tweeted.
