Mauricio Pochettino is set to publically commit his future to Saints.

Sources close to the club have told the the Daily Echo they understand that Pochettino will confirm he is staying on as manager when he faces the press at 3pm.

The Saints boss is currently taking a first team training session at Staplewood to prepare his side for their Premier League game at Sunderland on Saturday.

It is understood that Pochettino will speak with Liebherr before facing the media at St Mary’s.

There has been speculation over Pochettino’s future after the resignation yesterday of Nicola Cortese.

Pochettino and his coaching staff were called to St Mary’s late yesterday afternoon to be told by Cortese that he was quitting the club.

The Saints manager had previously said that he would leave Saints if Cortese did.

Pochettino is believed to have sought assurances over player sales, and the Daily Echo understands talk of a fire sale of the squad or players suddenly requesting transfers in the wake of Cortese’s departure are wide of the mark, especially with the manager remaining in place.
