Saints look set to be without both Jack Cork and Victor Wanyama for tomorrow’s game against Norwich.

Cork is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks after suffering an ankle injury in last weekend’s win at Crystal Palace.

Wanyama was due to replace him in the line-up this Saturday, but he sustained a knock in training on Wednesday.

The Kenyan was recently out of action for around two months, following a hairline fracture in his leg, and his latest injury is in the same area.

Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “Regarding Victor Wanyama, he had a knock in the same region as the previous injury.

“He does have some pain right there in the same region. We need to evaluate more than anything his fitness in terms of playing tomorrow.”

Pochettino did say, however, that Cork, Wanyama and Kelvin Davis, who has a troublesome hamstring issue, were the three players likely to miss out.

James Ward-Prowse appears the obvious candidate to come into midfield, in the absence of Cork and Wanyama.

Step forward Mr JWP, I'd quite like to see him get more game time anyway and tomorrow is the perfect chance for him to stake his claim for a starting spot. A solid performance please, I believe with JWP we hold onto the ball more than with Victor who seems incredibly good at winning the ball but then loves to give it straight back. I would like to see quick free flowing passing from our middle men JWP is a fantastic deliverer of ball, big Rick will score tomorrow :)

Lets bring in Harrison Read. He looks like a great prospect but JWP is also a decent option. We should be able to beat Norwich with 1 holding midfielder.

I think we should play an extra attacking midfielder and go for it with Ricky to come on in the 2nd half when we are already 2-0 up.

Disappointed for the boys and hope JWP can fill the gap.
Norwich spent big this year on their forward structure signings, as did Swansea, Spurs and ourselves to name a few in our comparative level of contest in the prem.
Van Wolfswinkel, Hooper, Bony, Soldado, Osvaldo. Were there any stand out signings for the money spent, I don’t think so, maybe Bony?
The bargain front-line up and coming goal scorer is the holy grail, any suggestions for next season?
Ings, Vokes, Jordan Rhodes seem to fit the previous JRod criteria.

I agree with those above, suggesting JWP to start, although Gaston will be hoping to get a start. It will hopefully create a space on the bench for Reed.

Between now and the end of the season, I'd like to see some more youngsters given a chance to step up. With Targett now being Luke's understudy, it would be prudent to test him at the top level, just in case Luke succumbs to the lure of the more wealthy clubs, during the summer.
And, despite his age, and size, I would like to see how Josh Sims would cope with this level of football. He certainly wasn't fazed when being a late call up for the England U17's, so maybe a chance off the bench would be good for him.

However, as Reed and Targett have played 90 mins for the U21's day, unlikely to feature tomorrow?
Gallagher only plaed 1st half, so bench tomorrow for him?

Gaston has had plenty of chances,it was an expensive mistake buying him, time to blood more youngster's. Gaston to move on in the Summer.Squad strengthening in the Summer with emphasis on a finisher and defence CB.

Bring on Ward-Prowse. Overhits his deadballs at the moment, but he brings toughness into the side and, as noted, a great deal more touch than Wanyama. There's no reason not to like Cork or his effort (yes, I know he's injured), but he is not getting the job done, particularly going forward, and Ward-Prowse offers much more upside.
