MORGAN Schneiderlin has claimed he “one day” wants to play for a “great club”.

The in-form Saints midfielder has been quoted in the French media regarding his long-term future.

Schneiderlin, who has been at St Mary’s since 2008, is currently under contract until 2017.

The only two members of the current first team squad who have longer contracts are Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw, who are under contract until 2018.

Schneiderlin has long been linked with Arsenal, and it is believed Arsene Wenger was keen on the player prior to him joining Saints from Strasbourg as an 18-year-old.

When asked by the French media about the Gunners, the player is reported to have said: “Arsenal? I have a three year contract, then it will not be easy.

“It is also my dream to one day play in a great club, so why not?”

Schneiderlin, however, praised Saints in the same interview with Foot Mercato.

“The club wants to grow,” he said.

“We will try to finish as high as possible to continue like this for a long time.”

As a French man who just had a look at the interview I can confirm that he said that he want to play for a great club ONE DAY and he also said that Arsenal had a look at him when he was 18 year old but decide to go to Southampton instead. He confirm the interview with sky sport about why he's not playing for France and also confirm that the English media lied about him wanting to play for England. Morgan confirm that he enjoy playing for Saint and he like the way Pochettino turn the team around. HE enjoy the EPL,He also confirm that he has 3 years left on his contract but at the moment he enjoy playing for Saint.

If he continues to be ignored by the French national team, then you could hardly blame him for wanting a move to a 'big club'. Didier deschamps is obviously blinkered and ignorant, unlike sir Roy.

Things are always on the change in football. So called "big clubs" are always being chased by the rest. Liverpool were undoubtedly the best quite a few years ago and then lost the plot. Manure are currently in the process of losing the plot and we are currently in the process of finding it. There is nothing to stop us from becoming a big club if we continue the way we are going. Obviously it won't be easy with the likes of ManC and Chelski throwing their cash around. Just to emphasise the way things can change in just a few short years I believe Poopey we're once a medium to small club and now they are just tiny.

I am really getting sick of all these rumours. Today's internet gossip has Gallagher going to Chelsea, Poch to Spurs, Shaw to Man City, Lallana & Lovren to Man U, Chambers & Schneiderlin to Arsenal, Lambert to West Ham.

We certainly have attracted attention, but not the type that I like.

My God!! if you'd believe it all, we won't have a team left for next year, but we could have made a lot of money for Ms Leibherr!!

I'd wish Saints would put a full page ad in the papers tomorrow,

You forgot Victor to ManC and Jay to Liverpool and Gaston back to Italy. And Nat Clyne to Spuds along with the manager. Fortunately the clue is in your first sentence. They are press fuelled RUMOURS. On a worse case scenario that every one of them goes we are looking at approx £150 million plus the Sky money.
Luke £30 mill
Sam. £5 mill
Adam. £15 mill minimum
Dejan. £20 mill
Call um. £10 mill
Spider. £15mill minimum
SRL £5 mill minimum
Jay. £15 mill minimum
Nat Clyne £10 mill
Gaston £15 mill minimum
And then another £15 million for Osvaldo.
If you believe anything at all that Katharina has said she is not about to pull the money out of the club but she is going to oversee it's continued success. That is surely why she has been bringing in top people who aren't looking to be working for just a few months. It's important to remember that nobody stays forever and every player is replaceable. It's perfectly normal in football and the only thing that is important is that we screw all the leeches for the maximum possible price. I think we are in a position to do exactly that. So calm down and don't spend your life worrying about something that may never happen.

There is the sum of values for individual players. Then there is the sum together. The latter outweighs the former because we have a great team. It is simply poor business selling individuals as the media has us doing. And since Liebherr is not about to sell the club, we can be calm. After a massive storm of failed raids, we will still stand together and next season finish top 4.

Vision comes from within. You may not be totally certain of your route to get there but you know your destination.
