ELTON High School are through to the last 32 of the ESFA Under-12 Girls nine-a-side Schools Cup following a convincing 5-1 victory against Wakefield’s Ossett Academy in their third round clash.

The local girls trailed 1-0 at the break but they hit back after the restart to level the scores through Katie King. King quickly doubled her side’s tally for a 2-1 lead before completing her second half hat-trick for a comfortable 3-1 advantage. A fourth goal for King followed before Caitlin Green completed the scoring for a convincing victory.

Elton High School will now travel to face Wilmslow High School in Macclesfield for their fourth round tie.

The Macclesfield side enjoyed a 13-1 third round win against Wigan’s St Peter’s Catholic High School to book their place in the latter stages of the prestigious national knockout competition which attracted 130 teams at the outset.
