“Turn on your TV” will be theme of Cononley’s sixth annual scarecrow festival this weekend.
Dotted around the village will be about 60 creations, made by villagers keen to show off characters from their favourite television programmes.
Coun Lois Brown, chairman of Cononley Parish Council, said: “We always try to choose a theme with a wide subject, which allows children and adults to think up a number of ideas. Last year we had fairy tales and nursery rhymes.
“So far, programmes like Call the Midwife and Bob the Builder are proving very popular.”
Scarecrow trail programmes will be available from the Cononley Post Office, Cononley Institute, the New Inn and the Railway pub.
The festival will run from Saturday to Monday and, on Sunday, Cononley Institute will be open for refreshments from 2pm to 5pm.
And, on Monday, a full range of family activities will take place at the institute, from 10am to 4pm. Duck races will start at 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
