A resident has warned someone could be killed if an open phone cabinet in a Bradford street is not secured.

Glenn Calrissian, of Stratton View, Holme Wood, said he has contacted suppliers Virgin Media on at least five occasions since the green cabinet, located on the corner of Stratton View and Eversley Drive, was vandalised on May 5.

He fears someone could be harmed as wires are exposed.

Mr Calrissian, who is a Virgin Media customer, is further concerned as the box is near Carrwood Primary School.

But the 49-year-old has grown frustrated after he says he has been “fobbed off” by the company, who he claims have said they will send out a service engineer to fix it.

Mr Calrissian said: “This isn’t the first time the box has been opened. I keep on reporting it. What have I got to do? What’s it going to take? Somebody being killed, before they do something about it?”

Ashley Scott, a Virgin Media spokesman, confirmed the cabinet’s lock had been damaged and will be replaced and apologised for the delay in sending an engineer out.

She said: “Anyone can report damage to our cabinets by calling 0330 333 0444.”
