A sporting summer
YORK races get under way at Knavesmire today. The racecourse – already one of the country’s finest – will be looking better than ever thanks to the first phase of its £5 million refit.
Best of all, the start of racing heralds a festival of great summer sport: the World Cup, Wimbledon and, right here in York, the arrival of the Tour de France.
We can’t wait.
