A new Aeolus Power (Wind-Energy) Limited partnerships scheme will give farmers, landowners, communities and businesses the chance to benefit from reduced electricity prices.

The electricity will be supplied by a wind turbine on their land and there are a variety of partnership options available from a ‘no cost’ arrangement through to 49 per cent part ownership.

The land leasing scheme provides a range of benefits for those prepared to site an Endurance Wind Power turbine on their land for 20 years. As well as a reduced electricity price, they will receive a 20 year rental income for the turbine and the annual rent will be linked to inflation.

The agreement will include a fixed price for electricity for the first three years at a level substantially less than that offered by the ‘big six’ energy companies. At the end of the three year period the price will be fixed for a further three years at the electricity ‘export rate’ quoted on that day.

There is the flexibility to own as much as 49 per cent of the turbine or alternatively to own none of it. If the partnership is purely a Land Leasing Partnership then Aeolus Partnerships pays for everything including planning, legal fees, ground works, insurance, installation, turbine maintenance at 5,000 hourly intervals and if necessary, any repairs.

It costs the land owner nothing to have the turbine installed on their land.

If the land owner prefers a part ownership scheme then a percentage of the costs will be agreed with them before the project starts.

The partnership agreements are for the 20 year period of the Feed in Tariff payments and after that time, subject to an extension of planning permission, a further Partnership can be agreed. Alternatively the turbine can be decommissioned and removed by Aeolus Partnerships.

The first step in the Partnership is to identify with the land owner their electricity needs and the kind of financial agreement they would like, from part ownership of a wind turbine through to simply leasing their land.

CEO of Aeolus Partnerships, Victoria Griffiths said: "Aeolus Partnerships offer an affordable, and even cost-free, way for farmers and landowners across the South West to benefit from reduced energy bills at a time when electricity costs are continuing to rise. The inclusion of the bigger and more powerful Endurance Wind Power X-29 within our Partnerships Scheme means even greater benefits for farmers.”

Aeolus Power was the first approved distributor and installer of Endurance Wind Power turbines in the UK and its knowledge of the wind industry is impressive. The company offers a complete ‘wraparound’ service from project concept, through planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Aeolus Power (Wind-Energy) Limited is an approved supplier of wind energy under the ‘NFU Farm Energy Services’ initiative.

The new Endurance Wind Power X-29, 225kW wind turbine is included within the Aeolus Power land leasing, partnerships scheme.
