Saints are today expected to confirm Adam Lallana’s move to Liverpool and are stepping up their attempts to land Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic as Ronald Koeman officially starts work.

St Mary’s skipper Lallana has passed a medical at Anfield and agreed personal terms on a blockbuster contract.

Saints have accepted a fee of £25m plus add-ons, with Bournemouth receiving 25 per cent for the sell-on clause they insisted upon when selling him as a 12-year-old. That means the Cherries bag £6.25m while Saints collect £18.75m.

Unless there is any unforeseen last second hitch, the move will be confirmed by both clubs today.

It is probably not exactly the way Koeman would have dreamed of marking his first day proper at Saints as some of the players begin to return to the upgraded Staplewood training ground for pre-season to meet their new manager.

However, with Saints now desperate to recruit having also lost Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw this summer, there are moves in the pipeline.

As previously reported in the Daily Echo, Saints have been eyeing deals for both Pelle and Tadic.

Now they are stepping up their efforts to sign the pair.

The Daily Echo understands that talks are talking place with Feyenoord and FC Twente over possible moves with Koeman keen to dip into a potential £100m war chest – comprising all the money raised from player sales this summer and funds that were already earmarked for squad investment – and make them his first Saints signings.

Pelle, a 6ft 4in powerhouse of a striker, was signed for Feyenoord by Koeman, and is understood to be keen to link up again with his former boss.

He bagged an impressive 23 goals in 28 games last season and is just the type of player Saints fans will be keen to see arrive to replace the talismanic Lambert.

His record for Feyenoord is a fantastic 55 goals in 66 games, making him one of the hottest talents in the Eredivisie.

The Italy born striker has represented his country up to under-21 level and in the 2008 Olympics.

He also worked with Koeman during his brief spell in charge of AZ Alkmaar.

Tadic is a 25-year-old playmaker who was the fourth top scorer in the Eredivisie last season, including two goals against Koeman’s Feyenoord on the opening day of the last campaign.

The Serbian also boasted the most assists in the Dutch top flight last season.

Pelle is rated at around £8m while Saints will be negotiating hard over Tadic.

Though the talented creative force has previously been touted as having a £10m price tag, he only has one year remaining on his current contract.
