RONALD Koeman is expected to crown a superb start to life at Saints with his first Premier League manager of the month award.

The St Mary’s boss will become only the second Dutchman to win the award if his 100 per cent record in September is recognised by the organisers.

Though no shortlist has yet been announced, Koeman simply has to be on it as Saints won all three Premier League games they played in September.

They beat Newcastle, Swansea and QPR to jump to second place in the table.

In addition, they also produced a Capital One Cup shock by dumping Arsenal out 2-1 at The Emirates.

Saints were the only club in the top flight with a 100 per cent league record in September.

The only club above Saints in the table, Chelsea, won two and drew one of their three Premier League games last month.

Martin Jol is currently the only Dutchman ever to win a Premier League manager of the month award.

That came back in December 2004, when Jol’s monthly record included a 5-1 White Hart Lane romp against Harry Redknapp’s struggling Saints.

Mauricio Pochettino, who this Sunday goes head to head with Saints at Tottenham, won his only manager of the month award in October of last year.

He was the first Saints manager to ever win a monthly prize since the rebranding of the top flight in the summer of 1992.
