Saints chairman Ralph Krueger believes the 8-0 win against Sunderland is a result that will be remembered forever.

Krueger watched the incredible, record-breaking game from the directors’ box, alongside owner Katharina Liebherr.

He said it was a result to treasure, but insisted everyone at the club was focused on what lies ahead, rather than what happened on Saturday.

“I know that everybody’s gone right back to work, but it was a special day that we will remember forever,” said Krueger, who was speaking in an interview with the Saints Foundation, at the launch of the 2014 Premier League Enterprise Challenge.

Krueger added: “It’s really a product of so many things that have been going on here in the last months.

“The end product is Ronald (Koeman) and the team on the pitch, and when they win like that, everybody wins.

“We realise it’s only three points, but let’s enjoy it and see it also as a confirmation that we are doing more right than wrong right now.

“We do all of the other things we do so we can enjoy the matches, and it was truly a couple of hours that I treasured every second of.”
