Dusan Tadic’s penalty miss at Burnley could be a symptom of a lack of confidence.
Ronald Koeman feels his Serbian playmaker, who was such a hit at the start of the season, could be suffering a little in the confidence department.
There is no doubt Tadic’s form has taken a dip, and that he appears to lack confidence, giving up a good chance to shoot in the first half for an ambitious pass that didn’t come off.
His second half penalty was saved by Tom Heaton and, though Koeman was offered the defence that it was well struck, he wasn’t impressed.
He said: “It’s not a good penalty.
“It’s strange because Tadic is a specialist.
“I know of him and all the records in Holland but maybe it’s more difficult, his confidence, maybe, and it’s good goalkeeping, but down, not very hard. It’s a bad penalty.”
