GARETH Bale won his fourth trophy of 2014 as Real Madrid defeated Argentina’s South American champions San Lorenzo in the Club World Cup final in Morocco.
The Champions League, Copa del Rey and European Super Cup holders took the lead through a Sergio Ramos header before a goalkeeping error allowed ex-Saints player Bale to add a second when the Welshman’s shot squirmed under Sebastian Torrico.
Real were rarely troubled and extended their Spanish record with a 22nd consecutive win in all competitions.
Bale has now scored in Real’s Copa del Rey, Champions League and Club World Cup final wins.
