FORMER Saints boss Harry Redknapp is being linked with a move for St Mary’s flop Dani Osvaldo.

The Italian international is currently on a season long loan with Inter Milan, but it is being reported the Serie A club want to end the agreement to get the striker off their wage bill.

QPR boss Redknapp is in the market for further strike options despite having recently signed West Ham’s Mauro Zarate on loan for the rest of the season.

Saints visit QPR on February 7 but even if Osvaldo signs for the west London club he won't be able to face his parent club.

Osvaldo, who cost Saints a club record £15m in the summer of 2013, has struggled in the last two years.

He only managed three Premier League goals for Saints in 12 appearances in the first half of 2013/14 before he headbutted team-mate Jose Fonte in training.

Osvaldo was immediately sent to Juventus on loan during the January 2014 transfer window, but was unable to make much of an impression as Juve won Serie A.

The 29-year-old has scored six goals in 17 appearances at Inter this term, but has only made five Serie A starts.

Genoa, Parma, Torino and Cagliari are also reportedly interested in signing the player who, according to reports in Italy, does not want to move back to England.
