Morgan Schneiderlin will be offered a huge new contract at Saints, to fend off interest from Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.

The paper claims that the Gunners are confident of signing the midfielder in the summer.

However, they say that Saints will make a major effort to keep him, by offering to make the 25-year-old their highest-paid player.

The Mail claims that Schneiderlin, who is under contract until 2017, is currently earning £30,000 a week at St Mary's, but will be given the chance to double that if he stays.
