The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the Saints transfer rumours appearing in the media today...

Saints have "joined the chase" to sign Real Madrid striker Javier Hernandez, according to the Daily Mirror.

The paper claims Ronald Koeman is keen on signing the Mexico international, who is on loan at the Spanish giants from Manchester United.

As well as Saints, German club Wolfsburg are said to be monitoring the 26-year-old, along with West Ham and Stoke.

This is not the first time the Mirror have claimed that Southampton have "joined" in the fight for Hernandez, though, having reported the same thing a month ago.

Saints are also supposed to have an interest in Wolfsburg's Dutch striker Bas Dost, according to German newspaper Bild.

The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals for his club side this season.

Elsewhere, according to French newspaper L'Equipe, Saints are looking at Caen's 24-year-old central midfielder Ngolo Kante.

Marseille, Newcastle and Arsenal are also said to be looking at the player.

Meanwhile, Italian giants Lazio have "identified" Saints striker Graziano Pelle as a replacement for their German striker Miroslav Klose, according to the Express.

The paper reports that if Pelle made the move to Italy, his home country, he would have to accept a pay cut of around £360,000 a year.
