RONALD Koeman could be preparing for the departure of Morgan Schneiderlin by signing another of his former Feyenoord stars.

Koeman has previously revealed that midfielder Jordy Clasie is a target should Schneiderin leave St Mary’s this summer.

Feyenoord today confirmed that the 24-year-old would not be taking part in some of the Dutch club’s pre-season preparations because of “concrete” interest from an un-named club.

“Jordy Clasie will not play against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Sunday. The reason is that concrete interest has been shown for the captain from another club,” Feyenoord tweeted from their official account.

“The club and player have therefore agreed that he will not play as long as talks on a possible transfer are ongoing.”

Clasie, who plays in the same position as Schneiderlin, is well known to Koeman.

The Saints boss swooped to sign him from Excelsior just days after taking over at Feyenoord in July 2011.

Since then, he has made 127 league appearances for the club, and has also won senior Netherlands honours.

One of Koeman’s first signing after taking over at St Mary’s last summer was to return to Feyenoord and sign striker Graziano Pelle.
