The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the transfer stories making the headlines across the rest of the media today...

Saints have launched an £8million bid to bring Celtic centre-back Virgil van Dijk to St Mary's, according to the Scottish Sun and Daily Express.

The papers report that manager Ronald Koeman believes that the £8million offer represents a fair price for the highly-rated and in-demand defender, who has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal.

However, Celtic's valuation of Van Dijk is apparently far higher than the deal Saints have tabled and it remains to be seen what the Hampshire club's next move will be.

The 24-year-old would join ex-Celtic players Victor Wanyama and Fraser Forster if he were to make the move south.
