The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the transfer stories making the headlines across the rest of the media today...

SAINTS will try and sign QPR striker Charlie Austin next month, according to the London Evening Standard.

The paper is reporting that Saints have emerged as “the new” favourites to capture Austin in the January transfer window.

According to the Standard, Ronald Koeman’s side will go back in for the 26-year-old after failing to secure his services in the summer, with an £8m deal on the cards.

Saints have been linked with Austin on numerous occasions and it is believed the club have not been interested in the former Poole Town man in the past, although things may have now changed.

The Standard added in their report that Koeman, who has said recently that any transfer business in January is unlikely, will look to bring in cover for the injured Jay Rodriguez.

Allegedly, QPR will consider selling their star striker, who has scored eight times this season in the Championship, even if they are challenging for promotion back to the Premier League.

Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Brom and Bournemouth have all also been linked with a move for the England international.

Meanwhile, the Mirror, have reported that Saints will raid Brighton for starlet Solly March next month.

The paper says that Koeman has been chasing the England Under-21 winger, but hasn’t gone ahead with a deal due to his inexperience.

However, after a series of eye-catching performances in the Championship, Koeman will apparently be lured back in for the attacker.

March, who is a product of the club’s academy, has appeared 15 times for the Seagulls this term, scoring three goals.
