The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the transfer stories making the headlines across the rest of the media today...

Saints are planning a move in January for midfielders Henri Saivet and Giannelli Imbula, according to the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail.

The Mirror reported earlier this month that manager Ronald Koeman is keen on Porto man Imbula, with various online news outlets now suggesting that he could be brought to Saints in an £18.5m deal.

The 23-year-old Frenchman, who plays as a defensive midfielder, has been touted around by the media and have linked the former Marseille man with a move to Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea as well as St Mary's.

The main reason, it seems, for Saints being linked with the Belgium-born player is the ongoing wait for Victor Wanyama, who has himself been heavily linked with Spurs and the Gunners in the past, to sign a new contract.

According to Saints' executive director of football, the club are trying to negotiate a new five-year deal with Wanyama, although there has been no news on that since September.

That has led to rumours of Saints moving for a potential replacement.

On top of that the Mail have suggested that Saints are in the running to sign Bordeaux playmaker Saivet, who is allegedly a priority signing for Newcastle.

The newspaper report that Saivet has impressed Premier League scouts from Everton, West Brom, Stoke and St Mary's, but that the Magpies are looking to lead the way for his capture.

The 25-year-old, who can play on either wing as well as a playmaker, is an international teammate of Sadio Mane with Senegal.
