GRAZIANO Pelle has been named in Italy's preliminary 30-man squad for Euro 2016.
Future Chelsea manager Antonio Conte left out big names like Mario Balotelli, Andrea Pirlo and Sebastian Giovinco.
But Pelle, who netted 14 times for Saints this season in all competitions, was, as expected name in the squad.
Italy are in Group E—one of the toughest of the tournament—with Belgium, Republic of Ireland and Sweden.
Meanwhile Shane Long has been named in the finalised Ireland squad for their friendly against the Netherlands.
Long may well face Saints team-mate Virgil van Dijk when their respective nations meet on Friday.
Martin O'Neil is expected to name his final 23-man squad after that friendly at the Aviva Stadium.
