RONALD Koeman could be preparing to sign Maarten Stekelenburg for the second successive summer.
The Dutchman brought his former Ajax goalkeeper to St Mary's on loan from Fulham last summer as cover for the then injured Fraser Forster.
Now Koeman is eyeing the former Holland international as one of his first signings after taking over at Everton earlier this month.
Stekelenburg joined Fulham in 2013 in a £3m deal but has spent the last two season on loan at Monaco and Saints and the Championship side are keen to get his reported £25,000-a-week wages off their bill.
He was a first team regular at St Mary's last season - making 17 league appearances and 25 in all competitions - until Forster returned in early January.
Koeman is believed to be keen to sign two goalkeepers this summer, as the only one he has inherited is Joel Robles.
Unsurprisingly, Koeman has already been linked with a move for Forster - the keeper he signed from Glasgow Celtic in August 2014.
