SAINTS flop Dani Osvaldo reportedly turned down a move to Serie A side Chievo on transfer deadline day because he wanted to focus on his music career.

Osvaldo, who was Saints' record signing before the recent arrival of £16m attacker Sofiane Boufal, told Italy television station Rai Sport that he'd retired from football to concentrate on becoming a musician.

Saints bought the Italian for £14.6m back in 2013, but was exiled from the club after just 13 appearances and three goals for head-butting Jose Fonte in training.

He had loan spells at Juventus, Inter Milan and Boca Juniors before permanently moving to Porto.

After an successful spell in Portugal he moved back to Argentina to join Boca, where he had his contract torn up for disciplinary reasons in May.

Chievo wanted him to sign him but Osvaldo seemingly isn't interested in football anymore.
