SPARTA Prague surged to the top of Saints’ Europa League group with a 1-0 victory over Hapoel Be’er Sheva at the Turner Stadium in Israel.
It was a night in which Group K was blown wide open with Saints suffering their first defeat in the competition – and ending their seven-game unbeaten run – at the San Siro against Inter Milan.
Things changed dramatically as Sparta pulled off a smash and grab victory to find themselves top of the group at the halfway point.
The evening’s key points in the group all unravelled in a five minute window.
Just minutes after Antonio Candreva gave Inter the lead in Italy on 67 minutes, 19-year-old striker Matej Pulkrab gave Sparta victory.
The goal came from a cross from the right, which found Pulkrab to hit home.
The result means that Hapoel suffered their first defeat in the Turner Stadium since it opened in September 2015.
