There was a bundle of chances Saints in the first half which they didn't take.
The second half Inter came into the game and gave Saints a lesson in taking their chances.
It was a cross from Davide Santon that found Antonio Candreva to blasts into the top of the net on 67 minutes. It was a great goal and one that cost Saints.
A number of chances followed as the game wore on but through sheer luck and some excellent goalkeeping from Samir Handanovic, Saints couldn’t quite find a breakthrough.
Despite the result, the 7,000 travelling fans were in unbelievable voice as the final whistle went. What Saints have to remember is that this was a massive night in the club’s history despite the defeat.
