Southampton have been drawn away to Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.

Saints made it through to the last eight with a 1-0 win over Sunderland at St Mary’s, while Arsenal beat Reading 2-1.

Saints boss Claude Puel said: “It’s difficult.

“It’s a good experience but I would like to play of course at home but the same like also to play with young players.

“I don’t know the start of that team at the beginning but it’s a good experience to see what you can do away against Arsenal.

Daily Echo:

“Hopefully we can recover many players because we have injuries and this is difficult because we play for example with a different right back and all the players had games and it’s important for the game in a few days to recover the players.”

The tie at the Emirates Stadium will be played on 29/30 November.
