Southampton fans swept up in Wembley fever can meet two heroes from the club’s former cup finals to celebrate the launch of a new book reliving the 50 most memorable matches in their history.

The 1976 FA Cup final winning skipper Peter Rodrigues and Saints stalwart Jason Dodd, club captain when they were runners-up to Arsenal in Cardiff in 2003, will be signing copies of Southampton Greatest Games, recently released by Pitch Publishing, at Waterstones, West Quay on Thursday February 23 2017.

Rodrigues and Dodd, who played more than 400 games for Saints, will be in the store from midday until 1.30pm.

Supporters are invited to come along and meet club legends Rodrigues and Dodd and get their copy of the book personally autographed, along with co-author Alex Crook.

The shock ’76 triumph over Manchester United, whom Saints face in the EFL Cup Final on Sunday February 26, is one of the main matches featured in the book, which delves into the archives to relive all of the major games they have been involved in, from Bobby Stokes’ heroics under the famous Twin Towers to Saints’ rise back to the Premier League in 2012.

Expertly presented in evocative detail, Southampton Greatest Games offers a ticket back in time, from the glory days under Ted Bates and Lawrie McMenemy to their modern day European adventures and from Kevin Keegan’s silky skills which lit up The Dell to Rickie Lambert’s thrilling goal-scoring feats.
