Daily Echo:

MANCHESTER United legend Ryan Giggs wants to 'kickstart his managerial career' at Saints, according to a national newspaper.

The Daily Mail state that Giggs fancies replacing Claude Puel at St Mary's to take his 'first steps into full-time management'.

But, considering his lack of experience, it seems a very unlikely appointment.

The 43-year-old has been linked with many jobs without finding employment and there is no indication that Saints are looking at the Welshman.

Giggs took temporary charge of United in 2014 after David Moyes was sacked, winning two and drawing one of his four Premier League games at the helm.

Saints have Frank de Boer and Mauricio Pellegrino on their shortlist for the role, but Giggs is not likely to appear on the club's radar.
