FORMER Saints man Jay Rodriguez has hit the ground running with new club West Bromwich Abion, netting a debut screamer in the Premier League Asia Cup.
The striker, who Saints sold for £14m this month, gave the Baggies the lead in Hong Kong against top-flight rivals Leicester with a sensational effort.
From the edge of the box, the 27-year-old picked up the ball and let fly, hitting the top left of the net in stunning fashion on 10 minutes, before Leicester's Riyad Mahrez levelled to take the game to a penalty shootout, which the Foxes won.
Rodriguez left Saints on July 2, ending a five year stint at St Mary's, which was marked by serious injuries.
