Matthew Le Tissier hopes for Southampton deal to be completed soon

Le Tissier hopeful of Saints buyout soon Le Tissier hopeful of Saints buyout soon

MATT Le Tissier has spoken publicly for the first time about his involvement with one of the groups in the running to buy Saints and said he hopes “that in the next few days something will come to fruition.”

Club legend Le Tissier has given his backing to the group, believed to be local property developers whose bid is being managed by Tony Lynam of Pinnacle Property Consultants Limited.

They are believed to be one of three parties in discussions with Southampton Leisure Holdings administrator Mark Fry.

Le Tissier said: “We are hopeful that in the next few days something will come to fruition on that front.

“As it stands at the moment there are several parties interested and we will wait and see what the outcome is.

“I have had talks with one of the interested parties but that’s as far as it goes there is nothing formal and we have to wait and see what the administrator decides.”

thank goodness for MLT. It takes him to be the first to actually say something about an actual bid and the stage it is at.
Why does Fry have to have everything he says shrouded in mystery.I realise he claims he is not allowed to say anything for legal reasons, but so far he has given misleading info, i.e. date when bids had to be in, we'll fold 2 days after Forest, or tomorrow when £500k in wages is due, Matt not involved.

After 12years of deceit and lies I hope to Le God MLT is actively involved so trust can be established again

I hope that with Matty being involved we may get a couple of older, experianced players to come in and help out for the last few seasons of their carear. Bit like the skates did with teddy sheringham, paul merson etc. although i dont like copying the skates.!

I will ignore the Le tiss element and see what and who these people are and do they have £50 million cash to spend getting us back to the Premier league ?

I think you'll find they copied us, Shilton, Osgood, Keegan, Ball, Channon (second time around), Watson etc were all experienced players that either helped us get promoted or gave us great football in the top flight. Although, towards the end of this season, experience didn't do us any good did it?

I don't think Le Tiss would get involved with any take over bid unless he had heard their intentions and they would therefore be good for the club.

I'm sure Le Tiss would help out on any of the other bids should they become more likely to succeed!

Saints will be training up the common before long!

Yeah because St Mary's next to Gasometers, a cement works, a railway line and industrial estate is a prime spot for housing isn't it?

Nothing wrong with training on the common. Saints best results happened during the time the club did that.

Any worthwhile gossip to come from the Echo "expose" on where it all went wrong?

We who can only get the Echo on-line, have to wait until the story has run it's course in print, before we are allowed to see it.

So if anyone can add any worthwhile comments it would be appreciated.
For example, someone commented on how much money Lowe paid himself. Over what period of time?

What next a press conference to confirm or deny a bid is close to being accepted? I think an offer has been made and verbally accepted - however I believe Mr.Fry will try to flush out other bids before accepting the first offer.
Beggars cant't be chosers can they Mr.Fry?
Looks likely then that the club will be 125-years old next season! What's the date - anyone know exactly?

They say he got about £2.4M over 8 years (although in another part of the piece they say £2.8M, it is the Echo after all). I'd take everything they say with a pinch of salt, they are very poor with thier facts, they were saying the other day that Woodward was to blame for all our ills and he came AFTER relegation. I wonder how long before this is deleted!

It's fantastic news to hear that there are still 3 x parties in the running to buy our club. I'm sure that "most suited" investor will be selected by Mr Fry (for the long term future of our club).

I hope that MLT will be able to work with whoever comes in as we trust him.

The road ahead will be long and hope that the support will be as good as the recent weeks.

Touch wood...."The Saints WILL March On"....?.

Thank you the 3 x parties...without your interest....I'd hate to live life without Southampton FC.

MLT saves Saints, seems to be headline I've read more than once. If it comes off, and he can save the Club, anyone want to suggest 'Sir Matt Le Tiss'. Hope I read Saints saved soon, the suspense is killing me.

Lets get rid of this rubbish of houses being built on St Mary's once and for all. The stadium sits on land that was once a coal fired gas works and the crap that it spilled is buried under a sealed membrane so forget that one. However, I would not dismiss houses on Jacksons Farm or Staplewood though! If thats the cost of our clubs survival so be it!

I have the gretest respect for MLT but saviours have a habit of falling on their sword - read Alan Shearer. Lets be happy with the best bid who ever it turns out to be.....
