Raidi Jahdi is glad he doesn't play against Southampton FC's strikeforce

RADHI Jaidi has declared that playing against Saints would be “a nightmare” at the moment.

The big centre half has been at the heart of the watertight defence that has given Saints a platform to score 12 goals in their last four games, conceding just once in that time.

Saints are on fire going forward and, as a defender, Jaidi, left, can appreciate just how hard it would be to play against them.

“Everybody is coming to play against Southampton thinking because of the results it is scary,” he said.

“If I take myself away from Saints I would be thinking it would be a hard game for me to play against Southampton.

Click below to see a video of today's headlines in sixty seconds

“I would be thinking ‘who will play, what will be their tactics, what is the way to play against them?

“It is hard because up front and in midfield we have quality players and that makes us a nightmare for other teams.

“We need to focus on our programme, do what the manager asks us and if we do we’d be unbeatable.

“But sometimes you don’t concentrate and that gives an advantage for teams you play against.

“We are playing well against the teams above us but we still have more hard games so we need to keep concentrating and doing our things.”

Jaidi has been urging his Saints teammates not to lose focus ahead of tomorrow’s game with lowly Tranmere after a good run of form.

“It’s about concentration – sometimes when a player has not experienced it or it depends on the preparation of that week,” he said.

“If you come in on Monday and you feel you will play a big game at the end of the week against Leeds or Norwich you keep concentrating all week and you will be focussed.

“Sometimes you can feel like the atmosphere is good, everybody’s happy and you don’t train hard and you don’t concentrate because the game is against a team below you.

“We shouldn’t think like that.”

Jaidi is still targeting a top six finish for Saints this season and believes that their recent run has only increased that feeling.

“With the results we are getting now it’s given us new confidence and the smell of our aim,” said the Tunisian.

“But we still have nothing in our hands so we are working hard and trying to concentrate as much as possible to do that.

“Everybody is happy but we still have to concentrate on the games coming, especially tomorrow.

“It’s not an easy game but we are very high on confidence.”

Totally agree RJ, we look fookin awesome at the moment, as long as you guys can mix it on a pitch more suited to rugger then we will make it.
Another one of those can anyone really remember the depression of 12 months ago, and the Echo headlines then compared to now?? Now teams are scared stiff of us, then they saw 3 easy points, know what I prefer :)) COYS!!

Oh it's a lovely Saturday morning in NZ as we wait for the top half to catch up to Match day.

Glory glory hallelujah

Glory glory hallelujah
The Saints are Marching on

Thinking of our Ray The Turk
As he wears a massive smirk
Right across that dial of his
As our front line does the biz
The goals are coming thick an' thin
As the boys queue up to get 'em in
And the Saints go Marching on

For me...it's all about the "take one game at a time" ethic. Tomorrow's quagmire at Tranny will be a good test as to whether our boys can really make their late challenge this season...given a few results in our favour, I wouldn't bet against us!

A quagmire is a type of wetland. Rhetorically, "quagmire" may refer to a predicament or situation from which it is difficult to extricate oneself. There you go dont say i dont do anything for you Echo !!

LO how about "Pompe disease" symptoms of muscle weakness begin any time from early childhood through adulthood. The disease progresses more slowly than the infantile form, but individuals still have a shortened life expectancy. Symptoms such as difficulty walking or climbing stairs begin and progress slowly over the years. As the disease progresses, individuals become wheelchair dependent or bedridden, and may require a respirator to breathe. Now that explains a few things !!

A man goes to bed and reaches over to his wife.
He starts by sliding his hand slowly across her shoulders, then down one side and glances past her breast. He then carries on down her side and legs and slides her legs apart slowly, and runs his hand up and down the inner side of her thighs. He moves back towards the top and stops . . . .

His wife gasps "why have you stopped?"

He replies its ok you can go back to sleep ive found the remote control !

Just noticed that the blue few are to launch a big flag at falling down park tomorrow. They have been trawling it around pubs and clubs all week getting as many as possible to sign it. Now I have heard of a book of condolences, but a flag of condolences is a new twist, well done Pompey for thinking outside of the box!

Brum just declared a loss of 20m pre tax which was the cost of getting to the prem. What is it with so called business people spending what they can't afford?

Our previous bosses took us under with the principal debt of 24m to Norwich Union was for our current 30k seat stadium and then a breach of terms for a 4m o/d to Barclays Bank. We were losing 1.2m a year and selling Walcott and Bale turned out to be a drop in the bucket.

As we approach the April 2nd anniversary of Saints Admin Day I still have the ringing of songs in my ears from SMS a few days ago and think "blow me down" (not exactly the words) we are lucky fans.

Those songs from SMS heard from down under beggar the question as to whether we would we want to be back in the Dell with the previous owners struggling along?

It may sound crazy but about this time every year I'll be thinking of 2nd April as Lucky Saints Day as that day ended the misery the club was put through but a little piece of me says the sorry saga played a part in making SFC a stronger Club with a stronger community.

So many clubs, some of them huge are going to go through it soon. I hope most will have the sense to go for voluntary admin early before their incompetent owners let their ego's destroy the History of English Football.

I wish them all Luck except the ones that have criminal tax evading cheats and still persist in spending money they haven't got.. They should be wound up forthwith. Pompey is in that category.

Though it seemed like an eternity those weeks that followed landed us with probably the most respected and well liked owner in football who really did pick up a bargain club... with a new 30k seat stadium and a training ground.

Up The Saints....
in more than just leagues :)

All good innit!
