Timing of Pardew sacking 'sucks' Timing of Pardew sacking 'sucks'

Saints fanzine editor Daren Wheeler reflected on the sacking of Alan Pardew and admitted: "If Rupert Lowe had made this decision there would have been absolute uproar."

As it is, Wheeler has already read comments from supporters on internet message boards saying they are happy Pardew has been dismissed.

Wheeler, who edited the Beautiful South fanzine and who writes a weekly column in the sports Pink, said: "The timing sucks, it really does.

"You could argue whether Pardew was the right man for the job.

"I watched some good games with him in charge and some not so good games.

"I wished he would make his substitutions before five minutes from the end, and I know some fans questioned his tactical ability.

"But you don’t get rid of someone after three games of a season on the back of a 4-0 away win.

"It just goes to show that the rumours we heard at the end of last season that Pardew was a dead man walking were true.

"I do feel sorry for Pardew. Any manager that starts a season should be given at least until the end of November.

"You have to presume they have somebody else lined up, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a foreign manager.

"But if they haven’t got anyone lined up then I don’t understand it.

"What I do know is that if Rupert Lowe had made this decision there would be absolute uproar.

"If you’re not happy, then say it.

"That’s not being anti-Cortese or anti the club."

It should have been done in the summer, in November wouldn't help.

What utter crap!

When is a good time to sack a manager? No one knows any facts yet and everyone is working on pure speculations.

Rupert Lowe was a pratt on so many levels and can not be compared to NC. To date NC has brought the man to our club who could save us and did. To date everything NC has brought the club up a level including dealing with gossip from the press and making the club money.

Let's wait and see who he brings in, as I would say it is already sorted, as he would not sack AP at this time with out a replacement lined up. Please also note that the statement does acknowleadge change managers is not a good thing, but they still felt it was a must. So let's hold fire and see who NC brings in. If anything now is still a good time to go on a title push....look at Norwich!

The new bloke's got just under a day to bring in his own players - if he's appointed in the next few minutes

That's if he's allowed any say in the matter! I said last week that Guly was probably brought in by Cortese rather than Pardew (same with Waigo last year) and if he continues to interfere in team/squad matters it is going to be difficult for any manager to work with him?

If RL had done the dirty deed we would not have been surprised, this seems strange time wise, but there must be a suitable explanation, but despite as fans being the main source of income, we will probably never know, my one one criticism of the Club at moment is the lack of information coming out of the Club. They do not seem to grasp that the fan base needs to be told what is going on, if they are to be kept on board. We would trust them more, if they trusted us.

Sure NC might have someone he thinks is better than AP in mind. But why sack AP now if whoever he has in mind is clearly not able to take over immediately?

Instead we get Dean Wilkins in temporary charge instead of a manager who won his last game 4-0 away from home.

Saints will look utterly ridiculous if they got out and lose the next game.

I can predict
The next manager is short of personal wealth - so will be a stooge.
He will not ask for money, and will gloriously take the team to Division 2
