Wolves "lining up £1.5m bid" for Lallana, according to national report

WOLVES are the latest in a long line of clubs to be linked with a move for Saints midfielder Adam Lallana.

A national newspaper today reports that the Premier League club is 'ready to bid £1.5m' for the 22-year-old.

Lallana has been consistently linked with moves away from St Mary's since he became a regular in the side.

But the player has always continued to keep his head down and get on with life at Saints, despite the rumours.

The speculation is given extra fuel, though, as the winger's contract is due to expire in the summer.

But with the transfer window closed, there is nothing other clubs can do to prise Lallana away from St Mary's right now.

£1.5m lol...yeah right!! I'm sure Surman has told Lallana what a great place Wolves is to play at...this is a nothing story. They could be playing against us next season anyway!

There's no point in printing a story about him now until the January transfer window when Saints will hopefully be in the top 2 and ready to strengthen the team...he won't want to go anywhere! The boy is Saints through and through and I believe he can go on to be as much a legend as Le Tissier!

We may not have any choice in the matter, but I reckon if we lose Lallana we can wave goodbye to this season. 1.5 Million is just not enough to go anywhere near replacing him.

Please prove Echo, rather than just repeat what other (proper) newspapers are saying. If indeed it is true, which I doubt, they can bid all they want. We won't necessarily accept.

its not in the Saints interest to plant these stories nor would wolves let it be known if they were interested. So as usual I assume the 'leak' comes from the player's agent who wants to stir things up as part of the contract negotiation. Agents are a blight on football.

We don't need another Surman type move, the money came in handy but it didn't do him any good.

Lallana is a very good League One player. But he is not proven above this league. We all know he has great potential to go on. He can never be put in the same potential bracket as Le Tiss because we are not a PL club and won't be for at least two years. I am not putting a downer on his or the clubs ability but he has not shown last seasons form this season as of yet. No League One player is worth more than the money we paid for Lambert. Look at Cox who was sold by Swindon to West Brom for £2m.. he cannot get in the side and and his goals ratio has dropped hugely. Only my opinion but whatever other fans say or the club owners until we get back to the PL and establish ourselves we will be a selling club. Fact.

Accept it. Lallana will be playing in the Premiership within three years at the very outside. With Saints.
