The Lambert form question is begging to be answered but I like to give him credit. I don;t believe the manager would play him if he were deliberately playing down. I hope it's just an injury, form thing which does happen now and then... plenty of pressure on him and if you look at close ups he does show frustration and anguish at his mistakes and real joy at the better fortune of others. Innocent until otherwise proven please. Icy pitches - remember them? boots were useless (except for the goalie) On the frozen solid turf plimsolls were better until you fell in the slush pit goal mouth. Goal keepers always wore a green polo neck woollen jumper, gloves of whatever sort you could borrow or nick and pom pom hats... if you had non of them you went home very sore. Great days. lol sw skin-rule yep..if you had any left
Jumpers for goalposts? Marvelous. Isn't it!
ha ha yeah i wander if Dan is aware of the Fast Show...brilliant.As for Rickie`s attitude ..well i`d never question his effort and attitude, but we need our manager to be ruthless. We all want the old Ricardo back but we can`t afford to be sentimental when teams like Brentford come down here and trample all over us."

LEE Barnard’s fitness should be among the silver linings after Saints suffered the disappointment of a second successive away League One game being postponed due to the big freeze.

A pitch inspection yesterday morning revealed the pitch at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium was frozen and, with no realistic chance of it thawing, the game was given the axe early. It is now scheduled for March 1.

Saints’ game at Hartlepool earlier this month was postponed in the same way. But at least it gives key striker Barnard extra chance to get fit in time for Saints’ Boxing Day trip to Charlton. Full story in today's Daily Echo
